Take Transit to Skate America

EVERETT – Figure skating fans who’d rather watch Kimmie Meissner do loops than drive around in loops themselves will be happy to know that Skate America has paired up with public transportation.

Organizers expect a record 30,000 people to attend Skate America at Comcast Arena Oct. 23-26. With bus stops directly outside of the arena and the Everett Station a short 10-minute walk away, public transportation is a convenient and cost-effective way to get to the event for both local and out of town attendees.

Everett Transit is doubling trips and adding Sunday service to its downtown bus Route 4 that links Everett Station transit connections and parking, Comcast Arena and Everett hotels and restaurants. Community Transit buses connect to Everett from all over Snohomish County, including frequent service on Routes 200, 201 and 202 between Arlington, Marysville, Everett and Lynnwood.

To make transit even easier, regional transit agencies partnered with Skate America to offer spectators a special $15 Puget Pass good for unlimited travel on all regional transit systems during the event. The event PugetPass is being sold online at www.2008SkateAmerica.com and at the Fan Fest at the conference center adjacent to the arena Oct. 23-26.
