No Service on Sundays
Community Transit no longer operates bus service on Sundays and major holidays. The Sunday suspension began in June 2010 as part of a package of cuts aimed at saving $16 million over two years as the transit agency seeks to recover from low sales tax revenues brought on by the recession.

The Sunday service suspension applies to six major holidays on which a Sunday schedule is normally operated: New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. In some cases the result will be two days in a row without Community Transit service in Snohomish County.

On minor holidays, some commuter service may be reduced, but buses will operate.

“The Sunday and holiday service suspension helps us keep much of our core bus service intact the remaining six days of the week, when ridership is much higher,” said Community Transit CEO Joyce Eleanor.

Everett Transit, King County Metro Transit and Sound Transit continue to operate on Sundays and holidays.
