Snohomish County and Community Transit have partnered to help you curb the congestion. Ride the bus or join a vanpool before October 2008 and receive a $45 subsidy toward your monthly fare. Complete the form belowd, email 164th@commtrans.org or call (425) 348-7185 to enroll in the Curb the Congestion Club today or request more information about commute options available to you!
Curb the Congestion Club subsidy program will run May 2008 through October 2008. Any Snohomish County resident that currently travels 164th Street SW/SE is eligible to participate in the program. Maximum subsidy amount for any individual will be $270 ($45 x 6 months). Subsidy will only be paid for the months of May through October, inclusive. Subsidy is not paid to participant in cash.
Program participants agree to eliminate a trip from 164th Street SW/SE by utilizing the bus or vanpool. By doing so, participants agree not to drive alone in a personal vehicle on 164th Street SW/SE to meet their bus or vanpool. Continuation of program subsidy is dependent on the availablity of funds.
Complete the form below dor contact a Community Transit Specialist to complete program registration. If registration is completed and received before the 15th of the month, the program participant will be mailed a $45 PugetPass to use for the month they register. If registration is completed and received after the 15th of the month, the program participant will be mailed a $45 PugetPass for the following month. For instance, if a participant registers on June 22, a PugetPass for July will be issued.
New bus riders or current bus riders that ride less than two times per week on average will qualify to receive a monthly PugetPass valued at $45. This covers the cost of local bus fare on Community Transit service. Participant will be responsible for additional bus fare if transferring from local service to commuter service.
To continue receiving the $45 monthly subsidy, program participants must ride the bus at least 60% of the time (an average of 3 times per week) during the month to qualify for the subsidy the following month. Subsidies will not be prorated. Subsidies are valid on Community Transit buses. Bus riders must complete and submit the provided monthly calendar logging their ridership to receive their subsidy. To receive a $45 PugetPass, participant’s calendar must be completely filled out and returned no later than the 20th of each month. Calendars cover the period of the 16th of the month through the 15th of the following month. For instance, if participant rides the bus May 16 through June 15, the calendar must be submitted by June 20 to qualify for and receive the July PugetPass. Calendars will be used to validate ridership and issue subsidies. Participants are to circle each day on the calendar they rode a Community Transit bus along 164th Street SW/SE and indicate the bus route number.
When the calendar is complete, fax or email it to: Community Transit Specialist at 425-438-6146 or 164th@commtrans.orgd. Once the calendar is validated, the participant will be mailed the bus subsidy for use the next month within 5 business days.

Vanpool rider will receive a $45 voucher payable toward their vanpool fare in a Community Transit vanpool. To qualify for the subsidy, participants must not have been part of a vanpool 90 days prior to registering for the Curb the Congestion Program. The $45 vanpool subsidy may or may not cover the entire passenger fare for the participant. Participant will be responsible for the balance due on his/her monthly vanpool fare.
