Safety Project Complete at Mariner Park & Ride
A new traffic signal, crosswalk and more shelters highlight the project
Work to improve pedestrian and vehicle safety at Mariner Park & Ride in south Everett was completed in late February 2010. Among the highlights are the installation of a traffic signal and crosswalk on 4th Avenue near the north entrance of the park & ride as well as improvements to the existing bus platform. The platform was reconfigured with new concrete and has more waiting space for riders as well as new sidewalk ramps compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act. Additional overhead shelters will also be added.
The construction project was a joint effort between Snohomish County and Community Transit. The primary source of funding was a Federal Pedestrian Safety Grant in the amount of $663,300. For more information on the construction project, visit the Snohomish County Public Works
