Be Safe and Be Seen

October 22, 2012

2:20 PM

With it being darker later in the morning and earlier in the evening, pedestrians are at higher risk of being involved in an accident.

Please stay safe by helping drivers see you when you are walking or waiting at a bus stop. Arrive early so you are prepared when the bus gets there. We get complaints from waiting passengers when bus drivers don't see them in time to stop safely, but we need you to do your part:

According to the Washington State Department of Transportation, the best way to avoid collisions is to be prepared and be aware of vehicles around you. While the law assigns pedestrians the right of way, it does not relieve pedestrians of using due care for their own safety.
