Mountlake Terrace Transit Center Surface Lot Parking Closure to begin Oct. 19
On Saturday, Oct. 19 at 8 p.m., the surface parking lot at Mountlake Terrace Transit Center will permanently close for construction of the new light rail extension. The parking garage at Mountlake Terrace Transit Center will remain open. However, surface lot parking will be replaced by an Interim Park and Ride lot at the former site of Roger’s Market Place, on the northwest corner of 56th Ave W and 232nd St SW.
Riders of Routes 810 and 871 to University District
Bus riders traveling to University of Washington are encouraged to park at the interim lot to catch Route 810 and 871 buses there. This will avoid overcrowding at the Mountlake Terrace Transit Center Parking garage.
Riders of all Routes to downtown Seattle
Local and Seattle-bound bus riders are asked to continue parking in the Mountlake Terrace Transit Center garage. This will avoid the need for an additional transfer.
Riders using the Mountlake Terrace Transit Center parking garage, or the Interim Park and Ride lot at the former site of Roger's Market, should allow for extra time to park and/or reach their bus stop. There may also be bus delays. The Mountlake Terrace Transit Center parking garage is typically full by 8 a.m. on weekdays.
A free Sound Transit provided shuttle will transport people between the Interim Park and Ride lot at Roger's Market and the transit center. The shuttle will circulate continuously every 10 minutes (or less) during peak hours.
---The shuttle will operate from 5 a.m. to 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Friday, excluding observed Federal Holidays.
---Pick-up and drop-off for the shuttle at the Interim Park and Ride lot will be on the west side of 56th Ave W, near the shelter closest to 232nd Street SW.
---Pick-up and drop-off for the shuttle at the transit center will be at Bay 2.
As this closure approaches, transit riders and Park and Ride users should expect to see Sound Transit communications including signs, rider alerts, web and e-mail announcements.
