Rte 240: 2-Month Marine Dr. Closure Starts July 16; Service Impacted

Jul 9, 2018, 10:43 AM

Starting Monday, July 16 for approximately two months, Route 240 service will be impacted due to the closure of Marine Drive north of Warm Beach.

Route 240 will be split into two segments:

  • Warm Beach-Smokey Point
  • Stanwood-Smokey Point

There will be no direct bus service between Warm Beach and Stanwood. People traveling between those locations will have to travel to Smokey Point and transfer buses.

In addition to the routing change:

  • Buses on each route segment will run every other hour, not hourly.
  • 10 bus stops will be closed along Marine Drive between Happy Hollow Road and the Stanwood II Park & Ride.
  • All arrivals/departures at Stanwood II Park & Ride will take place at Bay 1.

Buses will continue to serve each bus stop as close to the trip times listed in Bus Plus, except that every other trip will be missed. Revised schedules will be posted at all 72 active bus stops along the route. Stops that are not served will have a Stop Closed alert posted..

Tips for a Successful Bus Trip

  1. Please plan your trip ahead of time so you are not waiting at the stop for long periods.
  2. When you board a Route 240 bus at Smokey Point, be sure you are on the correct bus. Headsigns will say either "Stanwood" or "Warm Beach."

Please visit www.communitytransit.org/Route240 for the revised bus schedules during this construction project. The schedules show departure times from each of the route endpoints for weekdays, Saturdays and Sundays.

Thank you for your patience!
