Many passengers purchase a Community Transit ticket book or a monthly Puget Pass to make paying the fare more convenient. Pass outlets are located througout Snohomish County. Ticket books never expire, and each contains 20 tickets. Community Transit tickets are accepted at face value on Everett Transit, King County Metro and ST Express buses that travel to or from Snohomish County.
PugetPasses are accepted on buses throughout the region: Community Transit, Everett Transit, Sound Transit, King County Metro and Pierce Transit. Passes are sold in different values; buy one based on the fare of your most common trip. Each pass costs the equivalent of 18 roundtrips, so frequent riders save money. If an occasional trip costs more than the value of your pass, simply pay the difference in cash.
This chart indicates which passes are accepted as fare payment on various transit systems. Passes are accepted at face value, so additional fare may be necessary.

Up to two children age 5 and under can ride free when a person responsible for them pays either a full or reduced fare for themselves. Youth between six years of age and senior year of high school qualify for a youth fare. High school students may be asked to show identification to receive youth fares.
People age 65 and older and people with disabilities are eligible to purchase a Regional Reduced Fare Permit. The permit entitles you to a discounted ride on regular bus routes throughout the Puget Sound region and on Washington State Ferries.
A Regional Reduced Fare Permit is required on most transit systems to qualify for a reduced fare. It is also required on most systems for a personal care attendant to ride free when traveling with a disabled customer.
If you board a Community Transit regular route bus without the Regional Reduced Fare Permit, you may be asked to show ID such as a driver's license, Medicare or ADA Paratransit card.
The Regional Reduced Fare Permit can be purchased for $3 at the Community Transit RideStore or at Everett Station.
For more information or to receive an application, call the RideStore at (425) 348-2350 or download a PDF of the application brochure.
