Agency bike teams log nearly 1,800 miles for bike month!

This May, a group of Community Transit employees saddled up and went out on two wheels for transportation, errands, and of course some scenic exercise. From grocery runs to biking on the closed North Cascades Highway 20, and riding to the Bike Everywhere Day event at Everett Station, 17 employees logged miles all over the region to support active transportation and lower their environmental impact from transportation.

The Bike Everywhere Challenge is hosted by Cascade Bicycle Club and Washington Bikes, and takes place during May, which is National Bike Month.

Employee Transportation Coordinator Ross Peizer, who helped organize the two teams, was encouraged by more employees participating in 2021 than in previous years.

“It was great leading Community Transit's employee bike month programs and Bike Everywhere Challenge this year,” said Ross. “Our bike community is growing and strong at Community Transit and allows us to promote more multi-modal options to pair with our transit services.”
