Reload your ORCA card at Safeway or Albertsons? You need to get a new card

If you add money to your standard blue ORCA, ORCA LIFT or Reduced Fare card at Safeway or Albertsons grocery stores, you need to get a new card.

ORCA Card

There are improvements coming to ORCA, but along with that comes some changes. If you add money to your standard blue ORCA, ORCA LIFT or Reduced Fare card at Safeway or Albertsons grocery stores, you need to get a new card.

All Safeway and Albertsons stores will stop reloading these "classic" cards by the end of December 2022.

New cards are available for purchase at all participating retailers, ORCA ticket vending machines, or customer service offices. You can find the location nearest you by using the map at https://www.myorca.com/where-to-buy/. Or you can order a new card online using the myORCA app or at https://www.myorca.com/buy-online/.

The new card, which has a barcode on the back, which allows more communities and locally owned businesses across the Puget Sound region into the ORCA retail network.

More information regarding the new cards and changes to the ORCA retail network can be found at https://info.myorca.com/news/orca-store-reloads/.
