Spend a day at the lake with Community Transit

Grab your sunblock and snacks, leave the driving to us
A lake on a sunny day. There is a dock in the foreground, and people swimming and a park in the background.

Pictured above: Martha Lake Park has a great swimming area and park for enjoying those sunny summer days.

Picture this: You're stretched out on a beach blanket, basking in the sun beside a beautiful blue lake. A good book in one hand, your favorite chips in the other, and the sound of waves gently lapping at the shore fills the air. Pure summer bliss.

With Community Transit, getting to your lakeside escape is easier than ever. You won’t have to circle busy lots fighting for parking with everyone else headed to the lake. Just hop on the bus, sit back, and let us bring your perfect summer day to life.

Four lakes you can get to with Community Transit

Snohomish County is full of lakes, but we picked four for you to explore!

Martha Lake Park

Martha Lake Park in Lynnwood is a little slice of paradise in an urban area. This is a great park to go to for people living in Lynnwood or Mill Creek who don’t want to travel too far from home. This park offers picnic tables, a playground for the kids, a beach with a wading area, multiple docks, restrooms, and is ADA accessible.

Ferguson Park at Blackman’s Lake

Ferguson Park is in the city of Snohomish on the southwest side of Blackman’s Lake. While not the best park for sitting right on the shore, Ferguson Park is just up the hill from the lake and offers plenty of other activities like a basketball court, disc golf course, a playground, picnic tables, and restrooms. Walk down the hill towards the lake to the fishing dock and boat launch area to get those lakeside views.

Lake Goodwin Park

Located in Stanwood, Lake Goodwin Park is 14 acres along the northern shore of Lake Goodwin. There is a beach, picnic tables, playground, trails, and restrooms. This is a very popular park in the summers, so taking the bus to the park will help you avoid the busy parking lot!

Lake Tye Park

This park sits on the shores of Lake Tye in Monroe. This park is 64 acres and has a 1.63 mile walking loop around it. There is a beach, picnic areas, tennis/pickleball courts, basketball courts, children’s playground, restrooms and more. Throughout the year this park also holds many community events like live music, wakeboarding competitions, and movies in the park.

Planning a trip to the lake? Here are a few tips:

  • Bring a towel and a change of clothes if you’re planning to take a dip—nobody wants to ride the bus home in soggy clothes.
  • Pack out what you pack in. If you bring snacks, help keep our parks clean by tossing your trash in a nearby bin or taking it home to dispose of properly.
  • Plan ahead. Use Community Transit’s Plan My Trip tool to make sure you know your route and return options, so you’re never left without a ride home.
