As late summer settles in, it is time to soak up the last of the Pacific Northwest’s sunshine. Warm afternoons, crisper evenings, and a few weeks left of the kids’ summer break. It’s the perfect moment to get outside and enjoy some fresh air, and Community Transit can help you get there.

Whether you're looking for a peaceful solo stroll or a family outing, you can catch the bus to scenic walking trails all around Snohomish County.  Here are three great spots to explore. Just don’t forget your walking shoes, water bottle, and a few snacks!

Jennings Memorial Park – Marysville

Jennings Memorial Park is a great place to spend a few hours on a sunny afternoon. You’ll find a 1.2-mile out-and-back trail, several playground areas for the kids, a beautiful master garden (maintained by the local Rotary club), and a pond and creek that are perfect for spotting wildlife.

Lynndale Park – Lynnwood

Lynndale Park is Lynnwood’s largest park, with 22 acres of preserved forest to wander through, and about 20 more acres of developed park area. Explore the many trails that wind through the trees, then stop by the playground or grab a snack at one of the picnic shelters. There’s plenty more to discover—come see for yourself!

McCollum Pioneer Park – South Everett / Mill Creek

McCollum Pioneer Park has a little something for everybody. This 78-acre park is located between south Everett and Mill Creek. It features a forested loop trail where you can get your steps in. After your walk, you can enjoy the park’s picnic areas and watch the kids play on the playground.
