The Everett Community Ice Rink, in partnership with Community Transit, is proud to
announce the launch of Community Access Night. The free, monthly public ice skate night breaks down
barriers to recreation and encourages active lifestyles for youth and families across Snohomish County.
This new initiative, presented by Community Transit, offers free admission to the public ice skate session
held on the second Friday of each month at the Everett Community Ice Rink. Community Access Night
ensures accessibility is front and center by combining a no-cost recreation opportunity with free regional
transit for people 18 and younger.
“The Everett Community Ice Rink is more than just ice — it’s a gathering place where memories are
made in the heart of Everett. We’re thrilled to open our rink to everyone through the Community Access
Night,” said Patrick Houlihan, Ice Rink Director. “It ensures that every member of our diverse community
can step onto the ice, feel included, and share in the excitement of skating. These events are about
creating a space where all of Everett can come together and thrive.”
The program was developed as a model for equitable community engagement, focusing on youth
development, physical activity, and community connection. With Community Transit’s support, the vision
became reality.
“Youth across the region ride for free on Community Transit and other transit systems, while adults pay
$2.50, making it easier than ever for young people and their families to get to the rink and enjoy a fun
evening at Community Access Skate Night,” said Ric Ilgenfritz, Community Transit CEO.
Public transportation to the Everett Community Ice Rink is available through several Community Transit
routes, including Community Transit Routes 201, 202, ST 512, and the Swift Blue Line. To plan your trip,

Community Ice Rink on the corner of Hewitt Avenue and Broadway. Pre-registration is required and
