This is one of our original buses and it needs a name

Help us name the bus by visiting CT’s Facebook and Instagram accounts

Here's our “original” bus. It's a 1959 GMC Good Look model, and Community Transit leased 18 of these buses when the agency was getting started in 1976. We've kept this one around for parades and events. In honor of Community Transit’s 50th Anniversary, we’d like you to help us give the bus a name, so we’re holding a contest on Facebook and Instagram!

You may have seen this bus out in the community at parades and fairs. Later this spring, you’ll have a chance to board the bus and learn more about Community Transit’s rich history in the region. More on that soon.

Here’s what you need to know about the contest for naming our original bus:

How to enter:

It’s easy! Go to Community Transit’s Facebook or Instagram post and drop your suggestion in the comments. You must be logged in to your social media account.

The Rules:

  • Enter your name suggestion by April 16 in the CT Facebook or Instagram comments section.
  • Anyone can enter the contest.
  • Names can’t be more than 16 characters long since it will be displayed on the bus headsign.
  • This is a family-friendly bus. Names can’t contain vulgar, offensive, or derogatory language.
  • Names can’t be direct plays on the names of celebrities or public figures. (e.g. No Taylor Swift BRT Network)
  • Names cannot be trademarked or copyrighted.
  • CT selects the finalists.
  • The public will vote on the winning name.
  • The winning name will be posted on the headsign of the original bus.
  • No prizes, just bragging rights!

We can’t wait to see what you come up with!
