Tips for getting to the tournament from Snohomish County on transit

From the first whistle to the final buzzer, transit is part of the game plan. Learn how riding transit can make getting to and from major sporting events easier, more affordable, and less stressful.
It’s Soccer Summer in the Pacific Northwest!
As the FIFA World Cup tournament gets underway, there will be matches in Seattle and Vancouver, B.C., official fan zone celebrations throughout the state, and informal watch parties in almost every neighborhood.
Getting to Seattle Stadium (Lumen Field) on transit is fast and easy. Here are some ways to travel from Snohomish County to the World Cup games or Seattle fan activities using buses, light rail, and trains.

Take Link light rail from Lynnwood City Center Station
Lynnwood City Center Station is the northernmost station on the Link light rail network. A trip from here to the stadium is about 35 minutes, and you don’t have to worry about traffic. Take the 1 or 2 Line to:
If you’re riding the 1 Line, you can also exit at Stadium Station. Link 2 Line does not stop at Stadium Station; if you’re on the 2 Line don’t stay on the train past International District or you might end up on the Eastside.
If you do not have a ticket to a game, don’t travel to the area around Seattle Stadium. Fans without tickets will be turned away. See a map of the area around the stadium.
Many Community Transit and Sound Transit buses serve Lynnwood City Center Station, including:
- Route 201 (Arlington-Marysville-Everett-Lynnwood)
- Route 202 (Arlington-Marysville-Everett-Lynnwood)
- Swift Orange Line (Edmonds-Lynnwood-Mill Creek)
- ST Route 512 (Lynnwood-Everett)

Take the Sounder train to Seattle
If you’re traveling from downtown Everett, Mukilteo, or Edmonds, consider taking the Sounder passenger train to King Street Station in Seattle, which is a short walk to Seattle Stadium.
Sounder rail service will have game-day train schedules on Seattle match days.

ORCA also offers three-day passes for the tournament as well as its regular monthly pass and e-purse options. Cash is accepted on Community Transit routes. Please bring exact change.

On Swift bus rapid transit lines, you can buy tickets at station ticket vending machines with cash or credit cards before boarding.
At Link light rail and Sounder stations, buy tickets at vending machines before boarding.

- Saturday & Sunday 8:30 a.m. - 4 p.m.
- For the Egypt vs. Iran match on June 26, the Ride Store will be open until 8 p.m.
Service ambassadors will be out during the tournament to help you. Look for them if you need help with:
- Navigating your routes
- Paying your fares
- Navigating stations and stops
