Ride Community Transit buses and DART paratransit free for one week starting Thursday, Oct. 1 through Thursday, Oct. 8. Ride Free Week is Community Transit’s way of saying thank you to the Snohomish County community on its 50^th anniversary.  

Community Transit began serving communities in Snohomish County on Oct. 4, 1976. People across the county use Community Transit to travel to jobs, schools, appointments, and the places that matter in everyday life. Ride Free Week is a chance to celebrate the community that helped make local transit what it is today. 

Free fares are for Community Transit bus and DART service only and do not apply to:  

• Zip Shuttle 
• Vanpool 
• Everett Transit, King County Metro, Sound Transit, and other agencies. You will need to pay fare if you transfer to another transit system.  

It’s a great time to try transit! 
This is also the perfect time to try transit as Ride Free Week coincides with the 2026 Week Without Driving, an initiative to highlight the difficulties that nondrivers experience in accessing their communities.   

While taking advantage of Community Transit’s Ride Free Week, check out the Switch Your Trips Challenge, a contest that runs through the month of October. Log at least 10 transit trips between Oct. 1-31 and you’ll be entered to win prizes. Enter at ctgo.org/rewards.
