Everett, Marysville, and Arlington communities invited to give input on preliminary design for Community Transit Swift Gold Line

This rendering shows what the Swift Gold Line could look like at Broadway and 23rd Street in Everett, with center-running transit-only lanes. Features and details may change during final design and construction.
Community Transit is seeking community input on preliminary designs for the Swift Gold Line. The new line will expand the Swift bus rapid transit (BRT) system to fast-growing north Snohomish County as soon as 2031. Now through Nov. 15, the public is invited to take a survey at ctgo.org/swiftgold for a chance to win $200.*
Swift Gold Line location & design features
The Swift Gold Line, the fourth Community Transit Swift bus rapid transit (BRT) line, will be a 15-mile route providing frequent and reliable service connecting downtown Everett, downtown Marysville, and Smokey Point in Arlington. The Swift Gold Line aims to improve on the current Swift system and keep traffic moving safely for everyone with the proposed use of dedicated, center-running lanes for buses in some areas, preserving general purpose through-lanes for car travel.
The preliminary designs show details of the proposed bus lane, station and sidewalk configurations as well as potential impacts to roads and nearby properties. Visitors to the Online Open House can view animations and other images that show how center-running transit lanes and stations would be integrated into the roadway. Construction of the Swift Gold Line is expected to start in 2028.
