The Evergreen State Fair is coming and we’re here to get you there!

The 2021 Evergreen State Fair runs August 26–31 and Sept. 2–6  The fair will be closed on Wednesday, Sept. 1.

The fair runs from 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. each day. It closes early — at 7 p.m. — on Sept. 6.

Community Transit has extended bus service to the Fair

  • Routes 270, 271, and 424 will take you to the fair. Route 271 will offer extra route trips during the fair. See the details for each route below.
  • Use our online Trip Planner to plan your trip from anywhere in Snohomish County.

During fair hours, all of the following bus routes will take riders straight to the West Gate entrance of the fairgrounds.

Route 271 — offering extra evening trips

You can plan on spending the entire day at the fair because we have extra evening trips on Route 271 to help you get home!

Route 271 is an East/West Route that serves stops from Gold Bar/Monroe to Everett/Seaway Transit Center. It also includes stops in Snohomish and Sultan. See the route map for details

Route 271 runs Monday through Friday, with buses coming around every 30 minutes during the morning and around every hour during the rest of the day. Route 271 also serves the fairgrounds on weekends and holidays, running every hour on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays.

All extra Route 271 trips:

  • Take place in the evening only on fair dates shown above
  • Depart from the west fairgrounds entrance and travel east and west of the fairgrounds
  • Are in addition to regularly scheduled service. 

Route 270

Route 270 is an East/West Route that serves stops from Gold Bar/Monroe to Everett/Seaway Transit Center. It also includes stops in Snohomish and Sultan. See the route map for details

  • Runs Monday through Friday providing select trips in the morning and afternoon to support the route 271.
  • There are no extra evening trips to the fair for route 270, but buses on regularly scheduled trips will be stopping at the west fairgrounds entrance.

Route 424 

Route 424 is a North/South route that serves stops from Snohomish to Downtown Seattle. It also includes stops in Monroe, Bothell, Kirkland and Medina. See the route map for details

  • 424 runs limited bus service during the morning and evenings between Seattle and Snohomish.
  • Because it is a commuter route, the fare to ride Route 424 is higher ($4.25) than the fare for routes 270 and 271 ($2.50). 
  • There are no extra buses to the fair for route 424, but buses do stop at the fair in the afternoon along this route.  

About the Fair

The Evergreen State Fair runs August 26–31 and September 2–6, 2021 at the Evergreen State Fairgrounds in Monroe. The fair will be closed on Wednesday, Sept. 1. The fair runs from 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. each day. It closes early — at 7 p.m. — on Sept. 6.

The fair will follow local and state COVID-19 guidelines regarding vaccination status at the time of the Fair. Please reference their COVID-19 webpage for current updates.

The Fair offers free or reduced admission by age. You can purchase advance tickets online or in person at the Evergreen State Fair Passbooth from Aug. 9–25. The Passbooth hours are 8:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Monday–Friday. 

Ride safely and save with transit

Riding the bus is less expensive and less stressful than parking at the Fair. Adult fares (ages 19–64) are $2.50, youth fares (ages 6-18) are $1.75, and Reduced Fares (seniors age 65+/Disabled/Medicare/ORCA LIFT) are $1.25 with a reduced fare pass.

If you pay by cash, please bring exact change. If you pay with an ORCA Card, you will receive a two-hour transfer with your ride.

Our buses are safe, clean, and convenient. We require a mask when riding and provide masks on board all of our buses for those who need one. Learn about all of the ways we are keeping you safe throughout your ride with us. 

Don't forget our Park & Rides! 

Park at one of our lots and take the bus straight to the gate. Free parking is available at Everett Station and at the Gold Bar, Snohomish and Sultan Park & Ride lots. If you’re parking at the Snohomish Park & Ride, walk out to Avenue D to catch the bus.
