Now that school is out, thousands of kids can take full advantage of their youth ORCA cards, visiting relatives, friends, and checking out many events and eateries across Snohomish County this summer.

During the 2025-26 academic year, Community Transit visited dozens of schools and handed out more than 6,000 youth ORCA cards. Every year, the agency partners with local schools, teaching students everything they need to know about using public transportation. They also get to board a bus, learn how to use a front-loading bike rack, and meet one of the drivers. The tweens and teens also learn about the environmental benefits of using transit and how it can help them pursue and access new opportunities.

If kids missed out during the school year, they can check out one of the summer events:

Transit Tales (for younger kids)

Bussin' Basics (for tweens and teens)

Community Transit hopes to reach every 7th grade class in Snohomish County so that all teens can learn how to ride transit before starting high school. For more information on the youth programs available at schools and community partners, visit our website or send us a message for details.
