Expect changes at Canyon Park Park & Ride while the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) constructs the I-405/Brickyard to SR 527 Improvement Project. Construction will continue through 2027.
Construction update: Bus bay changes starting July 28, 2026
What to expect at Canyon Park Park & Ride:
- Swift Green Line station moving: The current Swift Green Line station will close and be replaced with a temporary station located just east of the current station.
- Bus bay changes: Bays 1–3 will close and be replaced by temporary Bays A and B.
- Bay A (north of the pedestrian bridge): Routes 106, 120, and 121
- Bay B (south of the pedestrian bridge): Northbound routes ST 532 and ST 535
- Bay 4 will remain open: Southbound routes ST 532 and 535
- Schedule changes: During construction, buses cannot wait at the bays. Times shown at Canyon Park Park & Ride are estimated and buses will not hold until those times. Buses may arrive and depart before or after the estimated time. Please ahead and arrive at your stop at least 5 minutes early. This applies to local bus only, not Swift.
- Walking paths: As work areas move, pedestrians will need to look for new marked pedestrian pathways to access the parking lot, local bus stops, and Swift station. During some phases, these pathways will be longer than typical; please plan for extra time.
When complete, Canyon Park Park & Ride will include:
- New Swift Green Line station on 17th Ave SE.
- New pedestrian bridge across I-405 between the Park & Ride and Bothell Everett Highway with access to the new center-freeway station for Sound Transit’s Stride Bus Rapid Transit (BRT).
- Roundabout at the entrance of the Park & Ride on 17th Ave SE, including bike and pedestrian improvements.
For the next two years, you can expect:
- Construction in marked zones.
- Temporary Swift Green Line station locations until the new Swift station is built.
- New entry and exit to the Park & Ride parking lot along 17th Ave SE at various times.
- One-way travel through the parking lot.
- Plenty of available parking, even with some parking stalls closed.
- Marked pathways for people walking through the Park & Ride and between local bus stops and the Swift station.
What you should do during construction:
- Give yourself extra time to find parking and walk to your stop.
- Keep an eye out for signage and flaggers directing you to temporary stops, pathways, and driving lanes.
