The Community Transit Board of Directors has approved the agency’s 2025-2028 Title VI Program Plan update. This plan addresses how Community Transit monitors impacts to vulnerable communities, encourages inclusive public participation, and provides meaningful access for people with limited English skill in accordance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964.
Following a month-long opportunity to provide input, the Community Transit Board adopted the following changes to the agency’s Title VI Program:
Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 is a federal law that prohibits discrimination on the basis of race, color, and national origin in programs and activities receiving federal financial assistance. As a recipient of Federal Transit Administration (FTA) funds, Community Transit is required to have a Title VI Program. The program is updated and submitted to the FTA every three years based on input from the public and analysis of transit services.
Community Transit provides all people equal access to its services and ensures a fair and transparent complaint process. Complaints about discrimination can be made at communitytransit.org/nondiscrimination. For more information, visit communitytransit.org/titlevi.
