Small Business and Community Transit

Community Transit promotes and encourages Small Business participation, which includes small, minority, and women-owned businesses in its procurement opportunities.

The agency is interested in firms that demonstrate a commitment to equal employment opportunities and encourages firms to employ a workforce that reflects the region's diversity and adheres to nondiscrimination provisions.

To be considered a Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE), firms must be certified by the Washington State Office of Minority and Women's Business Enterprises (OMWBE) before the bid/proposal submittal date. Information regarding Disadvantaged Business Enterprises currently certified with the State of Washington is available on their website.

SBE/DBE Business Development Program

Community Transit, in partnership with the Economic Alliance of Snohomish County, has developed a program to support Small Businesses.

Our objectives are to:

  1. Attract small businesses to participate and be competitive to win Community Transit contracts.
  2. Promote SBE/DBE certification.
  3. Provide training and technical assistance.
  4. Assist small businesses so that they can better compete in the marketplace.

To apply for the Business Development Program (BDP), download and complete the BDP Application PDF. In addition, more information about the Small & Disadvantaged Business Development Program is available to download as a PDF.
