About Edmonds
When you ride Community Transit in Edmonds, enjoy scenic waterfronts, vibrant downtowns, and easy connections to light rail. People traveling to and within Edmonds can choose from multiple routes served by Community Transit buses, including Swift Blue Line and Swift Orange Line bus rapid transit.
Other local transit options include a ferry station with regular ferries running between Edmonds and Kingston, the Sounder Train, Sound Transit buses, DART paratransit service, and Vanpool. Edmonds Ferry Terminal, Edmonds College Transit Center, Edmonds Park & Ride, Swamp Creek Park & Ride, Lynnwood City Center Station, and Mountlake Terrace Transit Center serve as nearby transit hubs. Local bike trails in Snohomish County also offer pedestrian and bike-friendly travel options.

Fast, frequent bus service: Swift Orange Line launches March 30
On March 30, service begins on the Swift Orange Line, creating fast, frequent, and reliable transit between Edmonds College, Alderwood Mall, and Mill Creek. The Swift Orange Line is Community Transit’s third bus rapid transit (BRT) line in Snohomish County, and will connect you with regional transit options, getting you farther faster.
The launch of the Swift Orange Line signals the start of significant growth as Community Transit works to create more transit options for riders across Snohomish County. It is part of the broader service changes happening on March 30.
Swift Orange Line Route
The Swift Orange Line will travel between McCollum Park, Mill Creek, Ash Way Park & Ride, Alderwood Mall, Lynnwood Transit Center, and Edmonds College. It will extend the reach of our county’s most popular and frequent transit service, as it connects to the Swift Blue Line (Everett-Aurora Village) and Swift Green Line (Seaway-Canyon Park). Later this year the Swift Orange Line will connect to light rail at the Lynnwood Transit Center.
Swift is a more seamless way to get around the community with fast, frequent, and easy-to-ride service, with buses arriving as fast as every 10 minutes during peak travel hours. Learn how to ride Swift here.
Will this change my bus route?
Route 115 (McCollum Park - Aurora Village), Route 116 (Silver Firs – Edmonds), and Route 196 (Ash Way – Edmonds) will be discontinued on March 30, because the Swift Orange Line and/or another new route will replace these routes. Learn more here.
Additionally, Route 120 (Canyon Park – Edmonds College) will no longer operate between Lynnwood Transit Center and Edmonds College. To continue onto Edmonds College from Lynnwood Transit Center, riders can take the Swift Orange Line. Learn more here.
